Is Tulsi too focused on stardom?

Is Tulsi too focused on stardom?

To those letter writers who have been so effusive in praise and support for Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, I have some questions.

How did her choice to resign from a prominent position in the Democratic National Committee in order to campaign for Bernie Sanders help serve us, her constituents here in Hawaii?

After her eloquent and passionate nomination speech for Sen. Sanders, where was she for the rest of the Democratic convention? When former Speaker Nancy Pelosi was joined at the podium by the Democratic women in the House of Representatives, Tulsi was nowhere to be seen. When the roll call of states was staged in deference to and with regard for the concerns of Sanders supporters, why wasn’t Tulsi at the microphone with the other members of the Hawaii delegation?

Perhaps her ascending national profile is taking precedence in her choices, but don’t we rate a representative who devotes full time and effort to the issues most important here in her district?

I don’t have the answers, but I do believe we deserve to hear some.

Sign damage un-American

Several times in the past month or so, someone has entered our property and torn up and ripped down the Trump signs that my husband had placed on some of the trees. The police suggested that I put up No Trespassing signs. We’ve lived in North Kohala since 1984, it felt like an affront to the people of North Kohala for us to do this. We have never had anyone enter our property before this creepy person decided that he should dictate our politics.

Even after the No Trespassing signs were up, he again entered our property and ripped down a sign. I have tried to fathom what kind of a person would so disregard the private property rights of others, would so disregard the right of every person in the United States to campaign for and vote for whomever they want, but I can’t imagine a person of so little moral character.
